NatCroMo 2014, March 1: Marie Segares

The 2014 Designer Blog Tour in honor of National Crochet Month gets off to a fabulous start today with a visit to crochet designer Marie Segares.

Marie Segares

Marie Segares learned to crochet from her grandmother in 1984 and has been hooked ever since.  She conquered her fear of knitting in 2010 and is now happily bi-craftual.  Marie is a CGOA Professional member.  She also volunteers as a mentor and as a book reviewer for CGOA.  Marie is a Craft Yarn Council Certified Crochet and Knitting Instructor (Level I) and Teacher (Level II).  In addition to teaching, Marie also designs crochet and knitting patterns, which have been published by Crochetvolution, Crochet World, Entwine, Galler Yarns, Inside Crochet, Knit Picks, Kollabora, Love of Crochet, Love of Knitting, and Pom Pom Quarterly.  She blogs about her crafty adventures at http://undergroundcrafter.com/blog.

National Crochet Month Plans

Marie will be sharing interviews with crochet designers, reviews of crochet books, and introducing new crochet patterns on her blog throughout the month. Be sure to stop by and make regular visits to see what’s new.

Marie is a professional member of CGOA, and she has this to share about her CGOA experience:

I love being a CGOA member because it’s wonderful to connect with other people who are so passionate about crochet!  I’ve learned so much from other members and have always felt welcome.
