Pretty much year round. I might swap to scarves or baby blankets in the very hottest part of the summer. Thanks for the giveaway!
I crochet blankets year round… squares or hexes in the warmer months, continuous in the cooler months. Keeps my lap comfortable! Thank you for the giveaway!
I am obsessed with making blankets. I make them all year long!
I crochet them mostly when I have a specific need — only some people are going to get that amount of time dedicated to them, so it could be anytime in the year (and most of my family birthdays are late summer/early fall).
It could be anytime but if it is one that will drape over my legs, winter would be a better time for that!
For larger afghans, I will take a summer break. I have made motifs and pieces of afghans though during warmer months. It is very easy and portable to work on pieced projects during the warmer months when I am at the ball field for my kids playing baseball.
I live somewhere it’s basically summer year round (Hawaii) but I still love crocheting blankets anytime – specifically for donating to Pine Ridge Reservation: the poorest place in the US with one of the harshest climates ?
Absolutely crochet afghans year around. I’m working on several afghan wips at this time.

I crochet blankets year round as they are a go-to gift for both wedding and baby shower gifts!!!! And I do so love Amanda’s blanket designs they are a true work of art and so beautifully colored. I would love to win a copy of this book!

I crochet afghans when I want to gift or for home regardless of what season it is. It doesn’t bother me to do it during summer. What matters is for whom it is.

Actually, I was just thinking my new WIP for April would be an Afghan for My Bed.
I usually take a break from crocheting afghans in the summer. Late summer I focus on working on Christmas gifts.
When I’ve made afghans, I’ve done it year around. I don’t make them so much anymore, and I do pay attention now to how hot I get with something on my lap. I’m more likely to be making a shawl now. My most recent afghans were for babies.
I have only completed baby afghans, all as gifts. I have 1 UFO afghan that I am making for my own bed and will finish it some day! Yes, I work on these anytime of year, but prefer to work on them during cold months.

I crochet in any season – summers in Michigan aren’t overly hot – so i would make a blanket any time of year.
I’ve only been crocheting one year but I’ve made two baby blankets, two large throws and a queen sized blanket so far and I’ve got yarn set aside for at least three more.

Oh wow! Good question! I got back into crocheting in ’09 and can count 17 off the top of my head.
I have made about 10 with at least 3 more to make.

Two finished crocheted afghans I made so far. One crocheted afghan is halfways, so be it time for more afgans inspiration. I love bright rainbow colors ans as I have my birthday today (yes on April Fools day, no joking) it would be fun to win this beauticul book as an extra birthday present.!

Three, but I use the components in a lot of other things (squares, long strips) I make more often, so I wind up getting afghan books a lot, even when I don’t intend on making an afghan, because I like the components of enough patterns to find the book useful.
I’ve completed 8 blankets and have 2 currently in progress.
I’m fairly new to crocheting. I’ve made 3 Afghans so far, and I’m working on my 4th now.
Didn’t we already do this once? LOL total Number of afghans I’ve made in my life = 0! Not because I didn’t want to make one, but every time I made a number of granny squares I ended up using them for something else. But I really want to make one, especially in rainbow hues, so this book would be wonderful! Thanks for the second chance to win it!

I make afghans almost year round, our summers are not not.
I’ve never made an afghan before. My focus isn’t that great when it comes to crocheting anything larger than a shawl. I’m not giving up, though. I’m beginning to make my first afghan using large granny squares with my friends.
I’ve made 10 or more adult-sized afghans, plus 9 or more baby afghans.
I have crocheted at least ten afghans, mostly gifts but I did save one for me. It is the warmest, coziest blanket I own. Thanks for the giveaway.
I crochet slow so I definitely haven’t made as many afghans as others. I think I’ve only made 5 or 6 since I started crocheting again in earnest a couple of years ago. Still, I love making them for charity and as gifts.

I never keep count of the afghans I make for others. I have been crocheting for over 40 years and besides family, other recipients include chemo patients at our local hospital whom I have never met. Just trying to wrap people in love and warmth… now I need to make a pair of baby afghans for my brand new twin boy grandbabies!

As more of a newbie, I have only made 2 so far, but I am looking forward to making many more.
I have only recently returned to crochet after decades, literally! Long ago I might have made one blanket. I made lots of scarves and some granny square Christmas stockings for nieces and nephews, but not many blankets. I am now beginning the Moorland blanket by Lucy of Attic24. I also have the Celtic Tiles blanket by Lilla Bjorn Crochet on my list….can’t wait to try overlay crochet. It is certainly NOY my Grandmother’s crochet anymore! 🙂
