Welcome to Crochetville’s fifth annual National Crochet Month (NatCroMo) blog tour, taking place each day of March 2017. Join us for a month of virtual glamping (aka glamorous camping), as we visit crochet designers, crochet-friendly local yarn stores, and yarn companies, as well as offer some fun giveaways.

Today’s Posts: Melinda Miller | Pam Dajczak | Julie King | Daily Giveaway

Want to Chat about the Tour?

Part of the fun of glamping is the daily round-up around the campfire, chatting and stitching with friends. We hope you’ll join us in our NatCroMo Facebook group, where we’ll be sharing daily camping recipes, campfire songs about crochet, and so much more! We’d also love to hear about your favorite things you’ve discovered on the tour and see photos of your current crochet projects. You’re invited to join us daily for virtual cocktails/appetizers and dinner. (We’ll be sharing links to some fabulous recipes!)

Pam Dajczak, Crochet Designer

Crochetville is very proud to have designer Pam Dajczak with us today, March 20, as one of the featured designers on our 2017 Designer Blog Tour in honor of National Crochet Month (NatCroMo). If you’d like to know even more about Pam, check out our post from last year’s blog tour.

About Pam:

Hi! My name is Pam and I am the owner and designer of Sincerely Pam. I am a self-taught Crocheter since February 2012 having entered the design world in April 2013. I think I am best known for easy-to-make and fun-to-wear garments for women and children. What began as a simple hobby has blossomed into passion for all things fiber. In my first year designing I published 40 patterns ranging from gotta-have collections to animal-inspired cowls and pillows.

In December 2013 I become a proud member of the Design Wars community competing in several Design Wars Challenges. I was the winner of Most Favorite Design six times for my Marek Vest Child Sizes, Marek Vest Women’s Sizes, the Warm Hug Shrug, the Dylan Cardigan Child Sizes, the Penny Purse and the Salena Sweater. Also, my Butterfly Breeze Poncho was voted Top Crochet Pattern Design of 2014 by Craftsy users!

When I’m not crocheting, you can find me spending time with my two kids and husband, either enjoying time outside, renovating our home, or watching a Blue Jays game, depending on the season.

Do you have a special place at home where you crochet? Tell us about it.

I am very lucky to have my own office where I like to spend time creating. I have my desk and computer for researching and typing up patterns, as well as an armchair and coffee table where I can crochet while watching Netflix! It also stores all of my yarn, naturally 😉

How do you decide what to name your patterns?

Most of my patterns are named after people I know. Samantha, Steff, Laura, Danielle, Michelle, Jenny, Mallorie, Penny, BreeAnna, Lisa, Cassie, Salena, Shannon and Crystal are all fellow crocheters, while Marek, Mackenzie, Rigby, Caroline, Johnny, Alex, Taylor and Ally are all people (and a my dog!) that I know in real life.

Tell us about your most popular pattern.

Right now I would have to say that my most popular pattern is the Danielle Sweater. I think people are most drawn to the over-sized, baggy style that looks great with jeans and boots, or a pair of comfy leggings! It’s also made with bulky yarn, which means you can whip up a garment in a weekend!

Tell us about your favorite camping location.

My favorite place to camp is Jasper, Alberta, Canada! My husband and I used to go there several times a year when we lived out west. We camped in both log cabins and tents, depending on the time of year. It was surreal being surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, sleeping next to elk, big-horned sheep and listening to the river flow beside us. It’s also where we got engaged <3

Pam’s Designs:

If you’re not familiar with my work already, I’d like to share three of my designs with you.

Marek Puffy Vest - Crochet - by Sincerely Pam

1. Marek Puffy Vest, $6.00

The Marek Vest is my entry in the Design Wars Back to School Challenge 2014 and was voted “#1 Favorite Design”!

This pattern was inspired by and written for my little guy, Marek. He is the absolute love of my life and brings so much joy to our family that I thought it was time to design something especially for him.

This Vest is very warm and cozy boasting 2 crocheted layers, a collar or hood, and after-thought pockets that you can place where you wish, or leave off all together.

Michelle Shredded Tank - Crochet - by Sincerely Pam

2. Michelle Shredded Tank, $5.00

This pattern is a breeze to work up! The beautiful shadow effect of the tone on tone striping, and the edginess given by the “shredding” make this a summer wardrobe staple!

Jenny Oversied Tee - Crochet - by Sincerely Pam

3. Jenny Oversized Tee, $5.00

A breezy summer top with tons of wardrobe staple potential!

The Jenny Tee is a lovely project that is quick to work up so you can easily make one over the course of a weekend! Casual and comfortable, you can dress it up or down for many occasions.

Don’t forget to favorite this project now before it gets lost in the shuffle!

The Jenny Tee is available in 8 sizes: XS-4X
