Not a member of CGOA. Funds are tight so the thing that would entice me to join is if it were free or an very inexpensive club.
I participate in the Prayer shawl ministry at my church. I enjoy spending time learning and growing my craft with this wonderful group of ladies!
I’ve recently tried to join CGOA, but I can’t get my application to go through. I’m not sure if it’s a problem with the website or my browser, but it would help if online joining were easier.
I attend a local crochet group, love it! We all help each other when we need to learn something or don’t understand a pattern or stitch. We also did a huge charity project last year where we made and donated over 250 blankets to the local nursing homes. I just think of that group as my friends and my night out. I never miss it if I can help it.
I am a CGOA member, but don’t participate in local groups — while I don’t mind hanging out in groups, they need to be conveniently located and on the right days and times and I haven’t found any that fit my preferences where I live now (In TX, I hung out with a mixed knitting/crocheting group occasionally) For a while I went to a geeky craft night in Seattle at a great coffeehouse, but parking became too unreliably hard to find to justify going down there. Trapped in suburbia (north of Seattle), so parking/transportation availability influences way too much of what we actually do and don’t do socially.

No, I am not! I am assuming CGOA is an organization in the United States? I am in Canada so I don’t know if it’s possible for me to join. At the moment I do not participate in any local crochet group because I am still quite new to it. I think having an opportunity to network with others would entice me to join one but I am too self conscious of my beginner’s work. Maybe in the future. 🙂

Yes, I am a member of CGOA, as well as a member (but infrequent attendee) of my local chapter. I love CGOA for its support in my seeking a crochet career! My local group is a comfortable place to hang out with like-minded yarn/thread fans.
I am currently not a member of CGOA, but I’m hoping to become a member soon. I do not participate in any crochet groups. The nearest one I’ve been able to find is 30-45 minutes away and it is not practical to go every week. I would love to find a group closer to home.

I’m not a member of CGOA. I belonged to a crochet that made prayer shawls. I’ve moved and haven’t found any crochet groups in my area, but hope to at some point.
Ooh, I love those booklets, especially the flower one. I would love to use it for FreeForm crochet. No, I am not a member of CGOA. I don’t know what would entice me to join. Years ago I had a crochet group, with just three members. I enjoyed learning new things and seeing what others were working on. Eventually it disbanded as interests changed. Ravelry keeps me busy and connected to an international crochet community.
I have been a member of CGOA for over 13 years but do not have a local chapter in my area. I have been to the CGOA Chain Link Conference several times, and have taken many fantastic classes and met many wonderful people.
I’m not a member CGOA, and to my knowledge there aren’t any sewing groups in my area. 🙁
I’m not a member and I live on a small island so there aren’t any local groups for crochet here as not enough people do it unfortunately…

I am a proud member of CGOA and our local crochet guild, Crochet Twin Cities! I’ve learned so many new things being a part of these groups, as well as making great friends.
My go to small gift is usually a cowl – there are so many patterns that take 1 skein or less and use a large hook so can be finished very quickly.
Hats are my gifts of choice.
I’ve made a rectangle granny bookmark in cotton thread. It was colorful and quick!
A heart is quick
I have been making flowers out of Red Hearts Scrubby.
My favorite go to items for small gifts are flowers and bookmarks. I am always crocheting flowers and leaves then I can glue or sew them to hair clips, or make broaches, decorate gift boxes and I make flower magnets for my daughter in law, she is a teacher and they come in handy in her classroom. Bookmarks are always a welcome gift. Thank you for this wonderful giveaway.
Well I like to crochet flowers – I start with a circle and just “wing it”. I also like to crochet bracelets with yarn, ribbon, beads, buttons, etc. Again, I just kind of “wing it”!
I meant to add that these books look great, and seem to have lots of neat ideas to try and add to my repertoire. 🙂
Cup cozies are my go-to small gift. They can be whipped up quickly and decorated in countless ways including using flowers. Plus, most everyone drinks coffee, tea or cocoa so it’s something everyone can use.
I don’t have a go-to item yet…. I’m fairly new to crocheting…..
I don’t really have a “go to”. I’ve made stars, flowers, a small bird, and snowflakes.
I like to make flowers to add to a hat/scarf/stole. I love making a special bulliion heart to remember a loss of a friend/family member.

I have been making bookmarks out of thread/yarn.
I crochet flowers and scarves for gifts. Usually the flower is an embellishment on the gift.
I have patterns for small crochet animals that I use on packages for baby showers and crochet flowers that I use on birthday and bridal shower packages. I use the crochet items instead of bows. Something for them to keep. Bows are only going to be tossed away. Thanks for the giveaway.

I don’t have a go-to small gift. I think I will need to rectify this.
I mostly just do various dishcloths/trivets as gifts…since they tend to take at least one evening to complete, not sure they count as “small”… 😉
Hats are my go to for quick gifts
My go-to gift (for new babies or friends with a whimsical streak going through a rough time) is a crocheted monkey, but I wouldn’t call it a quick project! It’s at least 2 full days of work to crochet all the pieces and sew them together. I’ve been getting some instant gratification the past couple weeks making little kerchiefs from shawl patterns that I wanted to try out, and that might become a go-to for me.
