  • Save

Welcome to Crochetville’s fifth annual National Crochet Month (NatCroMo) blog tour, taking place each day of March 2017. Join us for a month of virtual glamping (aka glamorous camping), as we visit crochet designers, crochet-friendly local yarn stores, and yarn companies, as well as offer some fun giveaways.

Today’s Posts: Carolyn Calderon | Karen C.K. Ballard | Julie Desjardins | Daily Giveaway

Want to Chat about the Tour?

Part of the fun of glamping is the daily round-up around the campfire, chatting and stitching with friends. We hope you’ll join us in our NatCroMo Facebook group, where we’ll be sharing daily camping recipes, campfire songs about crochet, and so much more! We’d also love to hear about your favorite things you’ve discovered on the tour and see photos of your current crochet projects. You’re invited to join us daily for virtual cocktails/appetizers and dinner. (We’ll be sharing links to some fabulous recipes!)

  1. I don’t belong to any quilt guild-am considering an on-line guild, as there is nothing close in my area! Thank you, Susan

  2. I am currently involved in a small crochet group. It has been a wonderful experience for me. I have made some great friends as well as grown in my crochet skills as we challenge and encourage each other to greater things.

  3. I am a member of CGOA. As mentioned in a previous giveaway comment session, the lack of anything convenient in terms of time and transportation is why I’m not part of a local group. If there was a convenient group, I’d still need to see if it was a good fit for me personality-wise and in terms of crochet interests–if everyone is crocheting stuff for their kids, I’m not likely to be interested, and if the kids are present in large numbers, I’d most likely not want to be.

  4. Yes, I am a member of CGOA. I am also a member of Chain Reaction which is a local group of crocheters that meets once a month. I like being able to meet with other crocheters talking about things we are making and yarn.

  5. No I do not belong to a local crochet group, nor do I belong to CGOA. I am disabled and traveling anywhere is out of the question.

  6. I am a member of CGOA, and looking forward to attending the Chain Link Conference in July. I don’t know of any local crochet guilds in the Oklahoma City area, though I have met fellow crocheters at yarn shops and the state fair.

  7. I’m not a member of CGOA. Nor am I a member of a crochet group at this time. I’ve moved and haven’t a group in my area, but hopefully will at some time.

  8. I’m not a member of CGOA – I didn’t know it existed until NatCroMo! I will certainly look into joining soon. There isn’t a crochet or knitting group locally that I know of, but I will research that also. I just recently found a LYS that I hope to visit regularly and have already gotten help with my attempts at knitting. I think a local group would be great and I hope to find one!

  9. I’m a member of both CGOA and TKGA…I like the magazines included in the subscriptions and also the tutorials CGOA offers…mostly, I just need to use the resources more! It could be having to remember my passwords that makes me not use my CGOA subscription as much as I should, but I hope to use it more this coming year!

  10. ’m not a member of CGOA. Thanks to NatCroMo I will look into joining. I have not found a local group. I work long hours, night shift sometimes, weekends and holidays so to be part of a local group would be hard anyway. I like the idea of online since I could access at anytime.

  11. I’m not a member of CGOA though I would be interested to join. I’m in a local crochet group and I like it because I enjoy sharing the love of the craft with others who feel the same way.

  12. I’m not a CGOA or local group member. I am disabled and took up crochet to have something productive to do while housebound. Going to events, especially out of town, is not possible for me, so I don’t feel like I would get much out of a group membership.
