I have yet another hot-off-the-presses crochet pattern book to review for you. Today I’ll be talking about Quick Crocheted Accessories: 3 Skeins or Less. The author is listed as Sharon Zientara, but the book is actually a collection of 24 patterns by 10 designers: Brenda K. B. Anderson, Jessica Bolof, Terri Keller, Kathy Merrick, Cristina Mershon, Beth Nielsen, Anastasia Popova, Regina Rioux, Linda Skuja, and Sharon Zientara.

You will find a variety of hats, shawls, cowls, slippers, socks, mitts, and more. The patterns also feature a variety of techniques, including lacework, slip stitch, Tunisian, motifs, beadwork, working on the bias, and techniques that achieve a knit look.

As always with books published by Interweave, the photography is exquisite, courtesy of photographer Joe Hancock. You’ll also find clear written instructions and stitch diagrams, thanks to tech editor Charles Voth. I haven’t actually made anything from this book yet, so I can’t give you any specifics about a particular pattern.

Oh, yes, we’ll also be giving away a copy of the book to one lucky random winner, so be sure to read through to the end to see how to enter the giveaway!

Now, let’s get on to what you really want to see: photos of all the designs. Each design is linked to the corresponding Ravelry pattern page for your convenience, in case you want to start a project page of your own for any of the designs.

  1. I love to crochet accessories and this book has so many attractive designs for accessories. It is difficult to pick just one favorite, but I have to say that the Cirque Shawlette especially calls out to me.

  2. I really like the appearance of the Garland Wrap by Kathy Merrick. So feminine looking. Think this would be beautiful in a multitude of differen colors(solid or variegated.

  3. Annulet Wrap is my very favorite, but there are several others I would also like to create. Looks like a fabulous book!

  4. My favorite, hands down, is the Annulet Wrap by Cristina Mershon. Loved it ever since I saw it in the Patternworks catalog.
I like the concept of the book. But I wish there were more shawls or even shrug patterns, and fewer hats and fingerless gloves. Most of the other patterns seem to qualify for “one skein or less”.

  5. There are so many wonderful designs to choose from, but I really love the Flourish Cloche by Sharon Zientara. Thanks and keep up the great work!!!
