Crochet Designs from “Hooked by Angel”
You’ve arrived at the annual NatCroMo Designer Blog Tour 2022! It’s a virtual celebration of National Crochet Month with new blog content daily throughout March, including featured crochet designers, pattern showcases, free patterns, coupons, discounts, giveaways, and more. This year’s theme is Pawprints on Our Hearts, so we’ll talk about our pets – furry, feathered, and scaly!
Some of the links on this page will earn us a commission if you make a purchase through them. View our disclosure policy for details.
Today’s featured designer on our NatCroMo Designer Blog Tour 2022 is Angela Doherty of Hooked by Angel. In addition to showcasing some of her crochet patterns, for our theme, Pawprints on Our Hearts, she tells us about her Maltese dog, Winston.
We appreciate our NatCroMo designers so much! They’ve so graciously shared their time (and often a special goodie) with us, let’s show some love! Some ways to do that are to like, follow, and shop! ❤️

I’m Angel, a crochet designer living out my creative dreams, recreating the images of adorable dogs and cats in yarn. My husband and I are empty nesters living in Columbus, Ohio. We have raised 3 amazing sons, and I now have time to put my crafty tendencies to work.
My realistic dog and cat cup cozy series all started after making a special gift for my parents that resembled their dog. We are a family of true dog lovers, and anything having to do with our dogs delights us. It took on a life of its own since then. Everybody wanted to see their favorite breed in cozy form. Fellow crocheters begged me to write my patterns, so they could make them too.
I currently have over 80 designs full of tail wag-worthy cuteness, but I am not finished yet. There are a lot more breeds on my list to try!
Angel’s Pet, Winston the Maltese
We have a Maltese named Winston. He is 8 months old, and has brought so much joy into our home. He is my furry associate and sometimes model who works for treats. I love to post pictures of him on my social media. Especially of his dramatic sleeping positions!
