Please read all the way to the bottom for some very exciting information!
Annie’s has just released a brand-new book by my Australian designer friend (and Chain Link conference roomie) Jenny King: Fashions to Flaunt Crocheted with Noro Yarns. This book features 17 designs that are so incredibly gorgeous you’d never guess they were all rated at an “easy” skill level.
The designs would look good in just about any yarn, but they’ve been created to show off the long color repeats in these fabulous Noro yarns to their best advantage. The color repeats were designed to with knitting in mind. Since crochet often uses more yarn than knitting, it’s amazing that Jenny has been able to create such outstanding color effects with crochet fabric. It takes a lot of talent to do what she has done with all the designs in this book.

The designs in this book use the following Noro yarns:
Noro Silk Garden Sock (sock 1)
Noro Silk Garden Lite (DK 3)
Noro Silk Garden (worsted 4)
Noro Kureyon (worsted 4)
Noro Kogarashi (worsted 4)
Quite a few of the designs in this book have gone on my “must make” list. I just happen to have a few skeins of Noro Kureyon Sock on hand. I have enough of it on hand that I could double it up to make one of the items featuring a heavier weight yarn. Which one of these designs do you think I’ll make with it? (The answer will appear below the pictures.)

Noro Silk Garden Sock (sock)

Noro Silk Garden Sock (sock)

Noro Silk Garden (worsted)

Noro Kogarashi (worsted)

Noro Silk Garden Light (DK)

Noro Silk Garden Sock (sock)
Are you ready for my answer? Here it is: the Crisscross Vest! A very close second is the Stripy Skirt. I’ll probably have to make it, too, before too much longer.
