I’d like to tell you about one of our newest advertisers on our blog, Jessie Rayot of Jessie at Home.
Jessie has a fine arts degree in costume design. In her life before kids, she was a professional costume designer/builder. She is now a stay-at-home mom of twin girls, wife, sci-fi geek, and artist, using her design training to create crochet and knit patterns. Jessie’s patterns are fun and fanciful, inspired by her Sci-Fi addiction, her whimsical children, and her past as a theatrical costume designer.
You can find Jessie’s free patterns on her Jessie at Home blog.
You can find Jessie’s crochet patterns for sale on Crochetville, Craftsy, Ravelry, and Etsy.

Here is what Jessie has to say about her designs:
Jessie At Home features fun and creative knit and crochet patterns; many of which include variations so that each item you create can be personalized and one of a kind. Each pattern is full of color pictures to help you along in your journey. A line drawing is also included at the end of each pattern which can be printed out as many times as you need to plan your colors.
Let’s take a look at some of Jessie’s designs.

Rachel is a slightly flared double crochet skirt with lace ruffles on the bottom. You choose how many rows of lace you want at the bottom of your skirt! Instructions are given for 7 different lace patterns, which can be place in any order, use several different laces, switch off between two, or even just make a few rows of the same one, it is all up to you! Due to the fact that you choose how many ruffles to make, the smaller child sizes can be almost entirely covered in ruffles if that is what you want, and the adult sizes can have the ruffles just at the bottom, so the hips and thighs are not made larger by ruffles. Length is also left up to the creator, so this skirt can be short or long. It has a slight flair, so movement is not an issue as it gets longer. There are many process pictures included to help with pattern clarity.
Sizes:
Size C3~5(C6~8, XS, S/M, L/1X, 2/3X, 4/5X)
Hip 24 (28, 34, 40, 48, 56, 62)
This fun, decorative tea cup is great for decorating your home, your tea shop, or just about anywhere. The pattern includes written directions and photos to help you along. It works up quickly and is easy enough for a beginner. Instructions for joining the tea cups into bunting are also included. At the end of the pattern is a page of line drawings you can use to plan out colors for bunting. You can use any yarn you want, and the coordinating hook ~ most yarns put a suggested hook size on the label.

This ripple pattern adds a lacey look to the classic ripple. This is really more of a stitch pattern; however, there are several finished project photos with details to help you with ideas. This pattern can be used with just about any size yarn and the coordinating hook. I do not recommend novelty yarns, as the textures of the yarn can make the stitches difficult or just take away from the look of the stitch pattern.
