You’ve arrived at the annual NatCroMo Designer Blog Tour 2022! It’s a virtual celebration of National Crochet Month with new blog content daily throughout March, including featured crochet designers, pattern showcases, free patterns, coupons, discounts, giveaways, and more. This year’s theme is Pawprints on Our Hearts, so we’ll talk about our pets – furry, feathered, and scaly!
Some of the links on this page will earn us a commission if you make a purchase through them. View our disclosure policy for details.
Today’s featured designer on our NatCroMo Designer Blog Tour 2022 is Kristine Mullen of Ambassador Crochet. In addition to showcasing some of her crochet patterns, for our theme Pawprints on Our Hearts, she shares photos of her guinea pigs.
We appreciate our NatCroMo designers so much! They’ve so graciously shared their time (and often a special goodie) with us, let’s show them some love! Some ways to do that are to like, follow, and shop! ❤️

About Kristine
Kristine Mullen is the pattern designer and tech editor behind Ambassador Crochet. Her design career began in 2007 when she couldn’t find the perfect pattern for a preemie blanket. She now creates timeless crochet patterns and has published over 200 designs. Her patterns have been featured in magazines and on yarn websites, as well as self-published designs that are featured in her pattern shops and on her blog. She works as a tech editor and proofreader for publishers as well as indie designers. Kristine also teaches pattern writing, as well as Tunisian crochet. Kristine is a homeschooling mom of 6 children (and 2 grandchildren) and lives on a little lake in CT with her family.

Kristine’s Pets
We have 5 guinea pigs. Mickey & Minnie Moo are 3 years old, S’Mores is 5 years old, and we just got 2 new babies, Peanue & Stormy. They are super social creatures and perfect for the kids.
Favorite Crochet Reference
What is one of your favorite crochet reference books or websites that is a go-to source of crochet information for you?
One of my favorite books is Around the Corner Crochet Borders by Edie Eckman. Sometimes I just need a visual to get some ideas on how to finish up a project. I like to look through the book and get ideas even if I don’t use the borders that are in the book.

Design Showcase:
American Flag Blanket
Pattern name: American Flag Blanket
Get the pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/american-flag-afghan-3
About the pattern: This afghan was a huge project that took months of planning and calculating. I used schematics for the American Flag and made it as true to dimensions as I could. Stars & stripes are all proportionately correct. I also made the stripes more like a fabric so there are no holes between stitches (and it’s not sc). I also incorporated the stars right into the blanket so they don’t need to be sewn on.

Design Showcase:
Odyssey Cardigan
Pattern name: Odyssey Cardigan
Get the pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/odyssey-cardigan
About the pattern: This beautiful, lightweight cardigan is exactly what you’ll need for those cool spring days or breezy summer nights. This amazing, eye catching sweater will make a great addition to outfitany style outfit.

Design Showcase:
Pemberley Heirloom Baby Blanket
Pattern name: Pemberley Heirloom Baby Blanket
Get the pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/pemberley-heirloom-baby-blanket
About the pattern: The Pemberley blanket is something that will be treasured forever. There is something so dainty about this afghan. It’s delicate stitch pattern and scallop edge are the perfect combination. Add a pretty ribbon and tie a bow to complete this beautiful blanket.
