[button link=”http://www.gocrochet.com/”]Today’s Stop 1: Visit Ellen Gormley[/button]
You may know Ellen Gormley as the crochet designer who does gorgeous things with motif afghans, as can be seen in her book Go Crochet! Afghan Design Workshop (Krause Publications 2011). In her most recent book, Learn Bruges Lace (Annie’s 2012), Ellen teaches us the stitch patterns in this beautiful old technique and puts them together in patterns for several wearable accessories and one throw. Ellen is the newest crochet expert on the show Knit and Crochet Now. She also has a new online class at Annie’s, Crocheting with Beads. You can see a photo of me and Ellen at the 2010 CGOA Banquet, where she is wearing her self-published Riverstone Vest.
Ocean’s Tide is one of my favorite afghan designs in Ellen’s Go Crochet! Afghan Design Workshop.
I love this cute E-reader Cozy Ellen self-published last year.

Nancy Nehring is a needlework author, designer, and instructor. She is fascinated with the history of crochet and has done much research on it. Most recently, Nancy wrote a history of filet crochet for the March/April 2013 issue of PieceWork, and a photo from her article graces the cover! It shows a table topper made by her husband’s great grandmother, circa 1920. Nancy’s designs and articles have been published in numerous books, booklets, and magazines.
I am amazed by her beautiful, intricate butterfly from Crochet Traditions Fall 2012, a special issue from PieceWork magazine.
Her Woven Plaid Hotpad from Crochet World (June 2011) looks fun and easy with a unique, textured look:
Good-Bye Until Tomorrow
