You’ve arrived at A Tour Through Crochet Country! During March 2013, Crochetville is hosting a daily designer blog tour in celebration of National Crochet Month. Each day, we visit the blogs of one or two crochet designers, who share something with us — a free crochet pattern or tutorial, a peek into their studio or a-day-in-the-life, a coupon code, or something else special. Join us each day for a new surprise!
On our 30th day of A Tour through Crochet Country, we’re visiting Linda Dean and Kristin Dragos.
[button link=”http://www.lindadeancrochet.com/blog/”]Today’s Stop 1: Visit Linda Dean[/button]
Linda Dean is a longtime crocheter, and recently began designing and teaching. Her patterns have been published in magazines including Crochet!, Crochet World, and Crochet 1-2-3. In addition to being a CGOA Associate Professional Member, she also has a CGOA Master of Advanced Stitches and Techniques and is a CYCA Certified Instructor. She lives on a small farm in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California.
Linda’s Backed Broomstick Clutch would make a beautiful evening bag. It came out in Crochet! Magazine, Spring 2012, and was her first published pattern.

I love the look of the stitches and the elegance of Linda’s Vineyard at Dawn Shawl, published in the most recent issue of Crochet! Magazine, Spring 2013. This shawl won Second Prize in the Accessories Category at the 2012 CGOA Design Competition.

Kristin Dragos is a new crochet designer and teacher. She learned to crochet in 2008 and began designing her own patterns in 2012. So far, her patterns have all been self-published and you can find them in her Ravelry store. Kristin is a CYCA Certified Instructor and is working on her CGOA Master of Advanced Crochet Stitches and Techniques. She teaches crochet classes at her local Michaels Store.
Kristin’s Beads and Triangles Bracelet really caught my eye! I love crocheting with wire and beads. You can download the pattern for free from Ravelry.

Kristin’s pretty Shimmery Shells Shawl would make a versatile evening accessory. I love the shiny yarn she used for it.

See You Again Tomorrow!
I hope you enjoyed today’s stops visiting with Linda and Kristin. Please come join us again tomorrow when we’ll visit with Karen C K Ballard and Gwen Blakely-Kinsler.
Remember Project Night Night & CGOA
We would love your support for our blog tour charity, Project Night Night, which donates comforting nighttime packages to homeless children. You can help by making and sending new crocheted blankets (50” x 60” or smaller) and/or making a financial donation. If you contribute, won’t you please use our form to help us keep a blog-tour tally?
Our blog tour is also promoting another non-profit, the Crochet Guild of America (CGOA). All designers participating in the tour are Professional or Associate Professional members of the CGOA. If you’re not a member yet, there are so many reasons to join!

These are only available at our 2013 consumer show booths, and will be autographed by both of us, Amy Shelton and Donna Hulka, co-owners of Crochetville! The postcard includes Amy Shelton’s exclusive X Marks the Spot scarf pattern.

I have a few cloth bags I received from a book club that I keep yarn & projects in!
I have to Ver Bradley bags next to my couch with my projects plus extra yarn in case I want to start something new.
I use any available tote bag or plastic grocery bag. I do want to get a more “professional” bag to carry my supplies.
