NatCroMo 2014, March 13: Tammy Hildebrand

NatCroMo2014b

The 2014 Designer Blog Tour in honor of National Crochet Month continues today with a visit to crochet designer Tammy Hildebrand of Hot Lava Crochet.

Tammy Hildebrand

Tammy Hildebrand has been a professional crochet designer for the past 16 years. You have seen her designs in Crochet!, Interweave Crochet, Crochet 1-2-3, and Hooked on Crochet magazines. You’ve seen her patterns on the Red Heart and Caron (now Yarnspirations) websites. She has been a contributor to a number of books. Her most recent book of designs, Crochet Wraps Every Which Way, was published earlier this year. She also has a book of baby designs coming out on July 1, Crochet for Baby All Year(Book links go through Crochetville’s amazon associates account. We’ll earn a small commission from your purchase, at no additional cost to you.)

I am proud to call Tammy one of my dearest friends. I first met Tammy at a CGOA conference. We got to know each other well through working together on the board of directors for the Crochet Guild of America and through traveling to STITCHES Events and the Knit and Crochet Show/CGOA Chain Link Conference, where Tammy helped out in the Crochetville/Red Heart vendor booth. While I’m no longer on the CGOA board, Tammy is currently serving as Vice President.

Passion Rose Motif

Tammy has a free motif pattern on her blog, the Passion Rose Motif. This motif would make a wonderful afghan or even a scarf.

On CGOA:

Tammy is a professional member of CGOA (Crochet Guild of America), as well as Vice President, and she has this to share about her CGOA experience:

CGOA has been instrumental to me both professionally and personally. Professionally, the guild has provided countless opportunities to network with peers and industry leaders, has allowed me to learn and grow through volunteer work and has offered many resources to help me build my business. Personally, I have gained an entire crochet family. CGOA members are so much more than just friends and we truly are part of the same family.
