Want to Chat about the Tour?

Part of the fun of taking a passenger steam train trip is talking with your fellow passengers. This year, we’re providing two locations where our passengers can get to know each other. We’d love to hear about your favorite things you’ve discovered on the tour and see photos of your current crochet projects. You’re invited to join us daily for virtual cocktails/appetizers and dinner. (We’ll be sharing links to some fabulous recipes!)

About Universal Yarn:

by Heather Hill

Universal Yarn began in 2005 as a husband and wife team with a dream. We had several things going for us – a personal relationship with our mill in Turkey, a love of needlecrafting, and a lot of determination. Since those days we’ve grown to a thriving company, but we still have those three things. Our partnership with our mill means that we can provide excellent quality at a reasonable price because there’s no middleman. Everyone here is a needlecrafter – it’s hard not to be when you’re surrounded by such beautiful yarn. And we remain determined to keep learning and growing along with the industry.

We feature a variety of crochet-friendly yarns, including our anti-pilling acrylic Uptown line, the self-shading Classic Shades family, best-seller Bamboo Pop, and butter-soft Cotton Supreme. Our new 100% raffia Yashi and Yashi Iro have quickly become crochet designer favorites for summer projects. The Fibra Natura family of yarns features beautiful natural fibers like Flax and Good Earth, featured in our Contrarian Shawls e-books. Our Nazli Gelin Garden line of cotton threads are staples in many a crocheter’s stash, with several pattern books of beautiful crochet designs.
