Want to Chat about the Tour?
Part of the fun of taking a passenger steam train trip is talking with your fellow passengers. This year, we’re providing two locations where our passengers can get to know each other. We’d love to hear about your favorite things you’ve discovered on the tour and see photos of your current crochet projects. You’re invited to join us daily for virtual cocktails/appetizers and dinner. (We’ll be sharing links to some fabulous recipes!)

About Yarn Asylum:
Yarn Asylum welcomes fiber enthusiasts of all types. Whether you are crocheting, knitting or weaving – you will find our friendly and helpful atmosphere relaxing and fun. Asylum is another word for sanctuary and that is what we strive to provide for all of our customers.
Our Group Therapy is held on Thursday evenings from 6 pm to 8 pm. Stitchers of all ages and skill levels come together to work on their current projects – knitting, crocheting & weaving – and enjoy the company of like-minded crafters. We all learn through sharing with each other.
Crocheters make up about 50% of our visitor base. We currently have 3 very talented crochet instructors who provide lessons from beginning Crochet 101 to more advanced skills such as shawls. Besides the beginning classes, our most popular classes involve Tunisian Crochet. Experienced crocheters say it is faster than regular crochet and even our knitters have jumped on board to learn.
Our inventory includes yarn for all budget levels – from quality acrylic to luxury alpaca. We have a wide selection of crochets hooks & books! If we don’t have what you are looking for, we are happy to special order if possible.
Our classes are listed on our website.
We also have a newsletter that keeps you up to date on what is happening at the Asylum.
