The Crochet Express National Crochet Month Blog Tour
Welcome to Crochetville’s fourth annual National Crochet Month (NatCroMo) blog tour, taking place each day of March 2016. Join us as we take a virtual tour on our passenger steam train, The Crochet Express, visiting crochet designers, crochet-friendly local yarn stores, and yarn companies, and offer some fun giveaways.
Today’s Posts: Kathryn Clark | Beth Major | Sara Kay Hartmann | Get Squared Retreats | Daily Giveaway
Want to Chat about the Tour?
Part of the fun of taking a passenger steam train trip is talking with your fellow passengers. This year, we’re providing two locations where our passengers can get to know each other. We’d love to hear about your favorite things you’ve discovered on the tour and see photos of your current crochet projects. You’re invited to join us daily for virtual cocktails/appetizers and dinner. (We’ll be sharing links to some fabulous recipes!)

More about the Get Squared Retreat:
In a nutshell, the Get Squared® Retreat is a chance to get away from the stresses and cares of work and family life. A time to focus on being your most authentic, beautiful self. Instructors Jenny King, Amy Shelton, and Tammy Hildebrand will be there to guide you along the way. You’ll learn a new technique to make crochet garments that will fit you (or anyone else) perfectly, the first time and every time. All with any yarn of your choice and your trusty size J-10/6.0 mm hook, with no need to worry about making gauge swatches or complicated pattern adjustments. Sounds unbelievable, right? Trust us: It works! You’ll also learn how to select colors that will best show off your natural beauty and how to select garment styles that will show off your figure assets. (Yes, you really do have figure assets!)
Unlike at a conference or show, you’ll spend more than just the 15 hours of classroom time with your instructors. You’ll be able to get to know us on a more personal level, while enjoying a hot breakfast buffet and evening cocktails and light dinner with us every day. Not to mention the extra-special fun evening activities we have planned for you! Only at a retreat will you get to spend so much time with your instructors!
Worried about whether you have the skills needed for this retreat? If you can chain, single crochet, double crochet, and achieve fairly consistent tension, you are good to go! The retreat is even perfect for knitters who crochet only enough to put trim on a project.

The most amazing thing for me would be to get to meet Jenny and Amy and all the other like minded souls who will attend!
Thank you so much for the generous giveaway. I would LOVE to attend this!
So much time with such amazing designers!!
I would LOVE TO LEARN HOW TO MAKE GARMENTS! I’ve never made them so far, but really want to be able to.
I think everything will be exciting in this retreat. To be able to attend will be such a treat. To meet and share with wonderful ladies as yourselves will be an out of this world experience. Wish I was the lucky winner. Good luck to everyone. Thanks for the opportunity.

It would be exciting to meet Jenny King and learn her innovative “Get Squared” technique so I can use it to crochet garments for myself.
Learning new things is always fun, but also meeting new people
Well the whole thing sounds enjoyable and fun. However, I think I would like the opportunity to learn Jenny’s technique the most. Thanks for the opportunity to contend for this!
Talking about Crochet Stitches and Techiniques.
I think the opportunity to talk personally with crochet professionals would be most exciting, as I love learning new things.
I think the best thing would just be being with other crocheters.
I would be so excited about the quality time with instructors.
I will have the confidence to start my first crochet garment!!
I would hope to walk away refreshed with some great new ideas and a lot of inspiration
