Want to Chat about the Tour?
Part of the fun of taking a passenger steam train trip is talking with your fellow passengers. This year, we’re providing two locations where our passengers can get to know each other. We’d love to hear about your favorite things you’ve discovered on the tour and see photos of your current crochet projects. You’re invited to join us daily for virtual cocktails/appetizers and dinner. (We’ll be sharing links to some fabulous recipes!)

Kathryn Clark, Crochet by Kathy
Crochetville is very proud to have designer Kathryn Clark with us today as one of the featured designers on our 2016 Designer Blog Tour in honor of National Crochet Month (NatCroMo).
About Kathryn:
My husband and I live in Colorado, have been married for 36 years and have one 31 year old son. We enjoy working together on remodeling projects and yardwork so our home is filled with our handiwork. My husband has always been very supportive of my crochet work. My favorite crochet projects are working with thread, especially anything that includes snowflakes! I also enjoy working on reversible designs, creating projects that have no “wrong side”!
Tell us about a “dream” travel location that you’d like to visit one day.
In the United States, I would like to visit the Snowflake Bentley Exhibit in Jericho, Vermont. I am fascinated with the photographs Wilson Bentley took of individual snowflakes in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s and how he meticulously cut out each negative by hand. Internationally, I would like to explore the island of Flores in the Azores, which is where my mother’s side of the family originally came from.

So travelers can carry their many projects along the tour, I will be offering my Reversible Tote Bag pattern free with the purchase of any one of my other patterns from March 27 to April 30, 2016. Coupon Code: NatCroMo327.
A Few of Kathryn’s Designs:
Winter Wonderland Dress Set, $5.00
This adorable dress set combines two of my favorite things … thread crochet and snowflakes! Three items are included in this pattern set: a sleeveless dress with sparkling snowflakes around the skirt and attached peek-a-boo slip; a long-sleeve jacket; and matching hat with snowflake applique. The pattern is written in U.S. terms for Newborn/6 months, 12 months, and size 2/3.
Lovely Lace Quartet, $5.00
I also enjoy using patterns in many different ways. The Lovely Lace Quartet pattern set uses the same lacey design in different configurations to create four unique accessories. This pattern set is written in U.S. terms and includes an infinity scarf, long scarf, shawl and shrug (S, M, L and XL instructions provided).
Wicker Wonder Reversible Afghan, $4.00
Another of my favorite projects is creating reversible designs. This technique makes one color more prominent on each side of the work. The Wicker Wonder Afghan is my favorite reversible design. I challenged myself to create a design which incorporates this intricate weaving pattern and was very pleased with the result. This pattern is written in U.S. terms and is worked from side to side with the ends of each row incorporated into the fringe.
