Want to Chat about the Tour?
Part of the fun of taking a passenger steam train trip is talking with your fellow passengers. This year, we’re providing two locations where our passengers can get to know each other. We’d love to hear about your favorite things you’ve discovered on the tour and see photos of your current crochet projects. You’re invited to join us daily for virtual cocktails/appetizers and dinner. (We’ll be sharing links to some fabulous recipes!)

Cylinda Mathews, Crochet Memories
Crochetville is very proud to have designer Cylinda Mathews with us today, March 28, as one of the featured designers on our 2016 Designer Blog Tour in honor of National Crochet Month (NatCroMo).
About Cylinda:
Hi, I’m Cylinda Mathews of Crochet Memories. I started my design career back in the early 1980’s and founded Crochet Memories in 1997. I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Ron, and we have two grown children and three grandchildren, and one fur baby. We live in Southern California where I work from home enjoying designing and blogging.
Tell us about your favorite travel destination.
The California coastline!
Tell us about a “dream” travel location that you’d like to visit one day.
There are so many places I’d like to visit right here in California yet, but I think a dream vacation would be to travel part of the east coast and visit some of our nation’s historical areas.
Do you visit yarn stores when traveling? If so, tell us about one of your favorite finds.
I usually don’t. I live, breathe, and sleep crochet (business) and this is my only real down time. Although with that being said, I always have a work-in-progress I pack. Or two.
Packing: Tell us about any crochet clothing or accessories you pack when traveling. Do you have any really cool packing tips to share?
If traveling by airline, don’t pack all one’s own clothing in one suitcase. Divvy it up and if a suitcase is lost in transit, everyone still has something to wear.
Tell us about any crochet projects you take with you when traveling: How many projects do you take? How do you decide which ones to take?
I take anywhere from one to two projects with me when traveling. They usually include at least one thread project and one yarn project. Usually it’s in the form of working on new designs.

Our sweet crochet doily is embellished with a rose center, a petite solid ruffle and surrounded with pineapples and more flowers for a lovely spring centerpiece!
3. Lacy Pineapple Angel, $5.79
Our beautiful crochet tree top angel boasts a double round of petite pineapples, matching double pineapple wings, full flowing sleeves all edged in gold. Holding a miniature harp close to heart, she’s sure to become your newest favorite angel!
