The Crochet Express National Crochet Month Blog Tour

Welcome to Crochetville’s fourth annual National Crochet Month (NatCroMo) blog tour, taking place each day of March 2016. Join us as we take a virtual tour on our passenger steam train, The Crochet Express, visiting crochet designers, crochet-friendly local yarn stores, and yarn companies, and offer some fun giveaways.

Today’s Posts: Stacy Vaka | Jocelyn Sass | Robyn Chachula | Interlacements | Daily Giveaway

Want to Chat about the Tour?

Part of the fun of taking a passenger steam train trip is talking with your fellow passengers. This year, we’re providing two locations where our passengers can get to know each other. We’d love to hear about your favorite things you’ve discovered on the tour and see photos of your current crochet projects. You’re invited to join us daily for virtual cocktails/appetizers and dinner. (We’ll be sharing links to some fabulous recipes!)

Jocelyn Sass, Creatively Sassy

Jocelyn Sass Crochetville is very proud to have designer Jocelyn Sass with us today, March 3, as one of the featured designers on our 2016 Designer Blog Tour in honor of National Crochet Month (NatCroMo). If you’d like to know even more about Jocelyn, check out our post from last year’s blog tour.

About Jocelyn:

I happily bring new crochet patterns to you one stitch at a time! I am so fortunate to have been designing in crochet and other needlework forms for over 25 years! I have over 500 crochet and needlework designs published in books and magazines & now I am happily self publishing crochet patterns for sale. Several years ago, my oldest daughter, Gina started her own photography business featuring newborns and families. She asked me to design some crochet photo props (that are so popular today) that she could use for her adorable babies. This venture has blossomed into a great partnership for us! I design and crochet baby items Gina wishes to use in her business and she showcases them beautifully with her professional photography. It is a match made in heaven! Following the success of Too Cute Crochet on Etsy, I have another Etsy shop dedicated to trendy CROCHET PATTERNS for WOMEN AND TEENS called Jocelyn Designs. I also sell many crochet household patterns at Cute Crochet Shop, also on Etsy! Needlework always came naturally to me. My mother taught me to knit at age 10, and I haven’t been without a needle or hook in my hand since. Crochet has been my passion for over 30 years. I have been lucky enough to turn that passion into a design business for over 25 years. I love color! Skeins of yarn all together contain some of the most wonderful color! My most favorite thing is to look at all the glorious colors of yarn, combine it with a hook, and turn it into something cute and whimsical. I guess I never grew up … lucky me!

Tell us about a “dream” travel location that you’d like to visit one day.

There are many places I want to visit, but locally I would like to visit Mood Fabrics in NYC. I am a huge fan of Project Runway and would love to visit the place where all the designers on the show choose their supplies!

Do you visit yarn stores when traveling? If so, tell us about one of your favorite finds.

I always have to check out both Local Yarn Stores and also the yarn departments of the big box stores also. Sometimes the same stores have very different products.
