A Tour through Crochet Country--National Crochet Month 2013
Sponsored by Crochetville

The month of March is National Crochet Month. Donna and I hope you’ll join the Crochetville community all month long as we present: A Tour through Crochet Country, a whirlwind trip to visit with 48 of your favorite crochet designers. Let’s get National Crochet Month 2013 off to a fantastic start!

The complete tour schedule is included at the bottom of this post. Each day of the month we’ll post a new message with an overview of that day’s tour stop(s) as well as links to the stop(s) for the previous day and the next day. Create a bookmark to our blog home page and visit it every day. You won’t want to miss a single stop along the way!

What Will You Get?

You will get a special surprise at each stop along the blog tour. You might pick up a free pattern created just for this event. Maybe you’ll get a sneak peek at a designer’s crochet studio. Maybe you’ll find a stitch or technique tutorial. You might even get a chance to learn some fascinating crochet history.

This tour is our way of saying thank you to crocheters everywhere for supporting the crochet community with your purchases of individual patterns, books, magazines, crochet hooks and tools, yarn, and thread. We hope you enjoy what we have to share with you this month!

Help Us Give Back: Project Night Night

Project Night Night

We are fortunate to be blessed with safe and comfortable homes, plentiful and nourishing food, our families, and all the friends we’ve made in the crochet community. Unfortunately, not everyone shares in this good fortune. We believe in the importance of giving back to the community.

As a group, the participating designers selected a very special charity to support this month: Project Night Night, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides over 25,000 Night Night Packages each year to homeless children. Each package consists of a new sturdy tote bag with a new security blanket, an age-appropriate children’s book, and a stuffed animal. These comfort objects help to reduce the trauma of homelessness for the children served by Project Night Night. Both the handmade blankets and stuffed animals provide the children with objects of love and security.

You can help us help Project Night Night by making and sending in a new crocheted blankets (50” x 60” or smaller) and/or making a financial donations. A group effort will help us do more for Project Night Night than any of us could possibly do on our own.

Hundreds of local chapters around the country provide crocheters additional opportunities to learn about crochet and advance their skills. Other member benefits include a subscription to Crochet! magazine, a private email discussion group for members, discounts to online retailers, and classes at our Chain Link conferences.
