While on my way to my high school reunion this past weekend, I was able to visit a wonderful yarn store in Knoxville, TN: The Yarn Haven. A good crocheter friend of mine recommended this store to me, and it did not disappoint! The owner and staff are very crochet-friendly, as you’ll see by some of the photos I’ll share. I took too many photos to include in this post, so please visit our Yarn Haven Pinterest board to see all of them.

Sandy Gray opened The Yarn Haven on February 2, 2007. I had a terrific time visiting with Sandy and Jasmine, her boston terrier/chihuahua mix dog who comes to the shop with Sandy every day. I’m sure to a dog’s nose I reeked to high heaven of the five felines who live with me, but Jasmine was still very nice and polite and allowed me to pet her anyway. The Yarn Haven was voted Best Arts & Crafts Shop in Knoxville in 2009 and 2010, and I can certainly see why.
Let’s take a tour of some things you can see in the shop. Let’s take a look at the shop from the parking lot:
The shop is organized by yarn weight. The first thing you see on your right is the display of lace and fingering/sock weight yarn:
Continuing down the right-hand side of the shop, the yarn continues to increase in weight:
Now let’s look at some of the crochet stuff you’ll see around the shop:
If this didn’t convince you this is a great shop, take a look at their incredibly full class schedule:
If you’re ever passing through the Knoxville area on I-40, make time in your schedule to stop by this wonderful shop. You’ll be glad you did!
